“A year goes by and you don't act any older,” lamented Rainer Maria bassist
Caithlin De Marrais on last year’s Long Knives Drawn, and by swinging
into town to promote the new Anyone In Love With You (Already Knows)
, the band helpfully provides its fans with the opportunity to compare their
own advances in maturity with De Marrais’s. If that and the band’s urgent
poetry-rock aren’t enough intellectual stimulation for you, keep in mind
that Rainer Maria is currently offering up the meta-experience of touring
in support of a combination CD/DVD that chronicles, um, the last time they
toured. It’s all very confusing, but that certainly never stopped Cheap Trick
from making a career out of it, so who are we to judge? – Marc Hirsh
