Jandek Coming to Sound & Vision at Mango’s, Next Month

Just got some cool, cool news from Jack over at Post Punk’d, who’s one of the organizers of the Sound & Vision music showcases that’ve popped up on the list a few times over the past couple of months.

It seems he & cohort Jonathan have a new Sound & Vision coming up Thurs., July 12th over at Mango’s, and lo and behold, they’ve got Houston musical enigma/experimental music icon Jandek playing.

He swears it’s confirmed and that “[t]here’s no MF Doom hi-jinks or weirdness like that.” Jack’s a big fan (not to mention a darn good writer), so I’m pretty sure this is the real deal…

It sounds like a damn good lineup in general, actually — along with Mr. Musical Enigma Himself, there’s also {Pulse Rifle}, {The Escatones}, {The Bailout Bureau}, & DJ Bob Bovary (and maybe more besides). The thing’s $7, and Jandek’s going on first, at 8PM.
