Beniyu Company Opens, Tonight
Damn. Late, as usual… I’d fully planned on mentioning this earlier on, but got caught up in day-job work, and, well, it just didn’t happen. sigh.
It’s not quite too late, though, so here it is — here at SCR, we’re always, always psyched to see one of our own make good, and tonight’s one of those times. See, writer Tom Koenig and his wife just started their own store, Beniyu Company, and this is their opening night/weekend.
The store apparently stocks unique items from Japan, made by the Mase Shokufu; not real familiar with the work, honestly, but it sounds like neat stuff, at least. It’s all based on traditional styles, it sounds like, specifically related to fireworks festivals in Japan.
Like I said, cool stuff. They’re open for the first time tonight, Friday, March 30th, and while I think they’re primarily an online deal, you can still check ’em out ’til midnight up at JoMar Visions (902 Hardy). And as an added bonus, {Satin Hooks} are playing the opening party. Stop by & see what they’ve got…
Cool! Do you know if they stock Japanese flavors of Kit Kat?
yes! they did have japanese flavors of kit kat. weird you should ask. almost creepy. They also had a samurai dog named Penny in full attire at the fest. The party was unique and Satin Hooks owned it musically!
