Help Japan, Today at The Caroline Collective
A cool, cool benefit event going on today/tonight (Sunday, March 27th) over at the Caroline Collective, as this week’s installment of The Caroline Sessions.
They’re calling it A Benefit for Japan: The Caroline Sessions, and the main goal’s to raise money for Red Cross relief efforts in Japan, helping people affected by the recent earthquakes & tsunami. The poor people there are still experiencing aftershocks on a daily basis, and the damage is utterly mind-blowing — they need any help you can give.
So, from 12PM to 9PM or so (I think), a host of good-hearted musical types will be playing their hearts out to help; writer Robin B. interviewed participants {Featherface} & {Westbound} on over here, but other cool folks playing include excellent folkie {Sara Van Buskirk}, {Ragged Hearts} frontman Corey Power, retro-popster {Chase Hamblin}, {Melissa Savcic}, {File Under Jeff} (both also interviewed here) and the awesomely entertaining {Benjamin Wesley}, among others.
Here’s the latest schedule I’ve seen:
- 12 PM — File Under Jeff / La Sien / Tiziano Hernandez
1 PM — Featherface / Myrna Sanders / Dena Blue
2 PM — Sara Van Buskirk / Donnie Sands / Chiptune Crooner
4 — Corey Power / Melissa Savcic / Chase Hamblin
5 — August 83 / Ernie Trevino Band
6 — Westbound / Reckless Endeavor
7 — Ben Wesley presents Ben Dragon
8 — (TBD)
On top of the music, there’ll also be free food/desserts (ah, how I love the cupcake resurgence…), free Saint Arnold’s beer. So head on over to Midtown, enjoy the food, beer, & tunes, and give what you can.
