Bamboozle Roadshow Ticket Giveaway + Maybe-Maybe Meeting the Bands (Maybe?)
A bit of a last-minute-y deal, I’m afraid, so jump on it while you can…
The Bamboozle Roadshow tour is coming through town tomorrow (Fri., May 28th) at the {Verizon Wireless Theater}, and while I can’t claim to be a huge fan of all the bands playing (sorry!), there are some in the pile that I happen to think are pretty damn entertaining.
In particular, I’ve been surprised by Good Charlotte in the not-so-distant past — there aren’t many poppy-punk bands that can pull of a concept album about life & death, I have to say — and Forever The Sickest Kids are pretty good in their own right. And c’mon, admit it: you know that deep-down, you secretly dream of finally going to see Hanson. If only to scream “Mmmbop!” at them over and over at the top of your lungs.
Oh, and the show here in H-town also includes Cady Groves, Cartel, Boys Like Girls, & All Time Low, too (you can see the schedule w/set times over here), so if those bands or any of the above three are your cup of tea, here’s your shot… The kindly folks promoting the tour have offered us up two tickets to give away to some lucky fan/reader for tomorrow’s show.
At any rate, if you want to go, just drop us an email at “gaijin” at “spacecityrock dot com” with the Subject line “Give me tickets or give me death!”. The first person to do so wins, just like magic — email fast, y’all, ’cause the window for this is closing rapidly…
And hey, if you either win or make it to the show on your own, there’s apparently a way you can get the extra-super-bonus perk of actually meeting the bands themselves.
Apparently there’ll be a “Swelter Stopper” dome (kind of a fancy-pants cooling tent) set up by the Coca-Cola people, and the DJ there will be giving out meet-and-greet passes to Coke-savvy concertgoers who can answer Coke-related trivia questions.
I’m not entirely clear what kind of trivia they’re going to be asking about, but our well-placed source says the answers are based on the text below:
What’s a “Swelter Stopper” – it’s one of Coke’s secret ingredients that, when combined with the others, make Coke the uplifting refreshment that it is. It’s all part of Coke’s Secret Formula that has been slowly removing the mystery around the Coke formula that has been fiercely guarded for many years. Maybe another ingredient will be revealed next year? Anyways, to help concert goers make it from the opening to closing acts, Coke will have the “Swelter Stopper” dome stocked with ice-cold Coca-Cola. They can get some shade and refresh. Once their “Swelter Stopper” experience ends, they’ll be ready for crowd surfing at the main stage.

There you go — email away, alt-rock kids, then try your luck at the Coke thing…
