Westheimer Block Party, Supersized (11/14-11/15) [10/27/2009 03:54:00 PM]:

Yes, i's that time again, folks -- the
Westheimer Block Party has rolled 'round once more. I'm utterly in awe of how the
Free Press Houston gang is able to consistently pull these things off, and not only that but make 'em
bigger each freaking time. I have a theory that
Omar doesn't actually sleep...
When I say "bigger," btw, this season's WBP is a prime example. This time out, the party will span two days, running both November 14th & 15th, with badass folks playing each day/night. And of course, the thing's still free, at least 'til the indoor nighttime headliner slots at Numbers on Nov. 14th, and even those are relatively cheap -- $12 a ticket, I believe.
Here's the most recent list I've seen from the FPH folks (no schedule yet, sorry), with bands & musicians I happen to like in bold and links to reviews, features, blog posts, & whatnot where we've got 'em:
Damn, that's quite a pile, and there're probably more to come, besides. I have to say, by the by, that my bolding of things shouldn't be taken as the only bands you ought to see -- you really can't go wrong with anybody on the list. Just show up, check out Random Band X, and you're bound to be pleasantly surprised...
