Friday Afternoon Video Madness
Yep, it’s Friday, it’s a holiday weekend, and we here at SCR realize that you desperately need some freakin’ entertainment. So here you go; just for you. Who loves you, man?
This first one’s a badass video for “Le Kick”, by one of my current fave H-town bands, American Fangs — the song makes me want to go out and break things with my friends, every damn time I listen to it, and it looks so good the wife didn’t believe me when I told her the band was from here…
Heading further afield, here’s the newly-released video for the Reigns song “Everything Beyond These Walls Has Been Razed”, and if anything, it takes what I’d thought was a creepy, post-apocalyptic song about fear and being cautious into something totally different and a whole lot creepier. Damn.
And then some Children of Men-ish-ness from Minnesota rapper P.O.S., for one of the most tense, skittering, frantic tracks off Never Better, “Drumroll”.
Frontman John Davis‘s vocals may’ve roughened up a bit in the intervening years, but going by the foot-stomping catchiness of new track “Aspartame”, Superdrag‘s barely missed a step…

And last but not least, here’s the nature-seeking video for Marissa Nadler‘s excellent, supremely understated alt-country-ish tune, “River of Dirt”.

Now go hide those Easter eggs, y’all.
