Merge+Music Festival Postponed for a Bit…
I heard through the grapevine the other day that the Merge+Music Festival that was slated for April 11th had been cancelled — which would’ve been a real shame — so I got a hold of Austin-dwelling organizer Andy (also of Your Kisses Cause Crashes, a fine, fine, synths&guitars crew who’ll be playing tomorrow at the FPH Westheimer Block Party; 5PM at the Helios Outside stage) for the lowdown.
Turns out that while no, the show won’t be happening next month, it’s not “cancelled” so much as “postponed.” Due to his having to deal with SXSW madness and conflicts with other shows (like the KTRU Outdoor Show, scheduled for the same day & about which I’ll be posting real soon now), Andy’s pushing things back ’til sometime in September (no date nailed down yet) and working on ways to make things better for the bands & get folks out to the show. I’ll post more details as I get ’em, but it sounds like it should be pretty cool.
Anyway, you can X that one of your calendar for now, but keep an eye out for the return of Merge+Music later in the year…
