Changes & Reschedulings, Tomorrow & Down in Alvin
Got a bit of bad news tonight from the On Your Feet Foundation crew down in Alvin — apparently Sunken Teeth had to drop off tomorrow night’s (Sun., February 8th) show up at Walter’s on Washington, due in part, at least, to some asshole swiping a band member’s car from their driveway. Damn, y’all…
At any rate, all is thankfully not lost — the OYF-ers have recruited Pasadena agit-punks Cop Warmth in Sunken Teeth’s place, which makes the show still damn awesome. I can’t claim to know much about Dark Castle (gloom-metal from Florida?), We Both Know (HTX grindcore), or Litost (something like Daniel Johnston & The Vaselines, I’m told), but like I mentioned earlier, Campfire Stories (well, what I’ve heard by ’em so far, anyway) is pretty great. Well worth checking out, even without Sunken Teeth.
In other bad news for the booking group, apparently the Alvin Bowl hasn’t quite finished fixing up all the Ike damage, so the February 10th show with After Time Has Passed, The Fuct (holy crap — didn’t those guys break up like 10 years ago? Or is it a whole different band w/the same name?), & the aforementioned Campfire Stories has to be postponed ’til later on down the road. The new date’s not yet set in stone (February 24th, possibly, or further out in March), but I’ll get it on the list once it is.
Keep the faith, Alvin kids…
