Secret Saturday, Rebooted [1/28/2009 05:33:00 PM]:
Did you see the thing a while back where the good-hearted, all-for-The Scene
Secret Saturday Shows crew finally bailed on their longstanding abode at
The Shady (And I Do Mean "Shady") Tavern? The future looked grim for our heroes. Where would they go? What would they do? Would they ever again be able to release The Rock out into the bright Saturday sunshine for all to hear?
Thankfully, the answer seems to be "yes". Got an email this AM that the Secret Saturday Show will indeed be happening this weekend, albeit at a different location than the old ones: 901 Eleanor, in Lindale Park. I've got no idea what the place is like (I think it's SSS main man J.D.'s house, but I'm not sure), but the show promises to be awesome, not real surprisingly...
Per the info I've got, it'll run from 12PM to 6PM this coming Saturday, January 31st (okay, that now makes three things I'm supposed to do at the same time on Sat. afternoon...argh), there'll be food (but BYOB, 'cause I'm guessing it's not a bar), and there'll be a big bunch of talented musical-type people. The list of bands includes Guitars (who Last.fm keeps confusing with these folks; uh-oh, I sense another band-name switch in the cards...), The Mathletes (woohoo!), Time Machine Veterans (members of The Wild Moccasins, Young Mammals, & Giant Princess, which means they're the sonic equivalent of a really tasty banana split, in my book), Sad Gorilla (Lucas from Satin Hooks on his lonesome), Sew What (who're always entertaining), & sIngs (one of the guys from By the End of Tonight), with an "and more" threatened at the end.
Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention it because it seems so no-brainer-ish, but: free. Free, free, free. And good. I can't go, sadly; you need to go in my place, capisce? Or else.
