If you happen to be in a band that includes at least one person from Rice University, you & your band could be in luck -- KTRU is holding a real-live Battle of the Bands at 7PM on February 20th, at the Lovett Undergrounds. Win, and you and your band could find yourselves playing the KTRU Outdoor Show this April (April 11th, I believe).

Of course, you've got to get your submission together pretty quick if you want to have the chance. Here's the details, from the KTRU Website:

Demos due February 6th, 2009 by 5:00pm
Demo must be either CD or Cassette. CDs preferred.
Location to drop off demo: Campus mail to Rachel Orosco at Jones College, or email to arrange a drop-off.
Label demo w/ email, cell #, band name, and members. Also note who in the band is from rice.

**SOMEONE IN YOUR BAND MUST BE FROM RICE TO BE ELIGIBLE**

Demo should contain at least 20 minutes of material; more is better
Receipt of your entry will be confirmed via email.
Each band must include at least one rice student, faculty member, etc.
Questions: "rachelo" at "rice dot edu"

Between Four and Six bands will be selected. Each will perform a 30 minute set, judged live @ Lovett Undergrounds February 20th..

Winning group will receive a spot at the 2008 KTRU Outdoor Show on Sunday, April 13
