New Coldplay Review & Show, Tonight [11/18/2008 04:35:00 PM]:
Yes, the disc's been out a little while now, I realize, but what the hey --
we sure as hell haven't weighed in on it 'til now, and that's what really counts, dammit. So, courtesy of
Houston Calling honcho, sometime
SCR contributor, and all-round cool guy
David Cobb, we've now got a review of the new(-ish)
Coldplay album,
Viva La Vida... up on the site. Check it out
here.
And luckily, we're just in time, since the band will be here in H-town this very night, playing up at Toyota Center with reportedly-good openers Sleepercar, who're a Sparta side project, apparently (see a cool interview with Jim Ward here, courtesy of -- yes, again -- David). So read about 'em, then go see if there're any tickets left. I'm generally cynical of arena-rock bands these days, but when they played SNL a few weeks(?) back, they were mesmerizing.
