Rain Is Bad for (Your) HEALTH (and Possibly Numbers, Too) + Now on Friday!

Just saw the news from the Free Press crew — apparently last night’s badass-looking show up at Numbers with HEALTH, The Wiggins, B L A C K I E, The McKenzies, & Female Demand had to be called on account of torrential, car-swamping amounts of rain and dodgy electricity at the club. Damn. Condolences to anybody who tried to make it out…

On the positive side, though, the show will go on, and even with extra bonus sprinkles, in the form of local purveyors of noisy strangeness Rusted Shut & The Krinkles. The rest of the bill’s intact, as well, and they’ll all be playing this coming Friday, October 24th, albeit up at Notsuoh rather than at Numbers. I think Rusted Shut & The Krinkles were already scheduled for that night, so kudos to them & the ever-helpful Jim Pirtle for taking in the orphan show… It’ll be great, seriously; you should go. I may attempt it, if I can get the midget to bed early…

It sucks that this hit Numbers, btw, since they’ve already reportedly been dealing with some seriously hard times of late. I’m told they were on the verge of having to close their doors prior to the Westheimer Block Party weekend before last, which would be a tragedy — while I’ll admit to still holding an anti-Goth bias towards the place, losing it would be like losing a scene icon. Hell, Henry Rollins even reminisces about hanging out there back in the day. Here’s hoping this latest forced cancellation isn’t one more nail in the proverbial coffin.
