Oh, My God: Bettye LaVette @ iFEST

Big, big, big “thank yous” to Sara Cress & Joey Guerra over at HandStamp for this one. Earlier today they leaked a bit of the lineup for this year’s iFEST, formerly known as the Houston International Festival, and hot damn — Bettye LaVette is on the bill.

There’re lots of other good folks, too, both local and non, but having recently stumbled across last year’s The Scene of the Crime, where LaVette heads back to the site of her near-brush with stardom back in the ’70s to try to right a host of grievous wrongs, she’s the one I desperately want to see.
